As a consequence she will be returning annually to the UK and working with the sleep deprived families around the UK who need her.

My name is Olivia, my children are Conan and Eva. I have been passionate about working with young people my whole life, and spent ten years teaching children with learning and behavioural difficulties, before taking time out to have my own. Additionally, I have worked in Early Childhood Education as a home educator. I have a Bachelor of Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education with the focus on Positive Psychology.
None of this, however, prepared me for my first baby. At eight weeks he refused to nap during the day and crashed out of exhaustion at night, with frequent wake ups.
I knew this wasn’t healthy and felt helpless. All of the reading about babies, and conflicting grandparent advice was just confusing me even more! It was time to bring in the professionals.
I asked the Baby Sleep Consultant to help me to get my little boy to sleep. Whilst working with her I was relieved to discover that I didn’t have to let Conan cry himself to sleep, which is what I had been told by so many people before. I found the strategies she used worked perfectly well with my own parenting philosophies. Finally I learned some scientifically sound principles that resulted in a baby who was the contented and happy when awake, and slept well for both his naps and nights.
After working closely with the Baby Sleep Consultant, my appetite had been awakened to discover more about the science and psychology behind baby and toddler sleep.
As I trained to become a baby sleep consultant myself, I was able to link much of the material I learned to my knowledge about Positive Psychology and my mindfulness practices.
The positive approaches that the baby sleep consultants use help us to give parents the confidence and skills to get their children to sleep, and give the children the feeling of achievement and mastery.
The mindfulness allows me to be present and engage with each baby and parent as individuals in order to gauge which strategies will work best for them and their parenting style, and give them the tools they will need to carry these out.
By reinstalling good sleeping habits we have happier healthier babies and mums and dads that are rested and able to spend satisfactory quality time with their children.
I also regularly put my skills to the test by travelling long haul with my children to the UK to visit family. I have learned the tools necessary to make the transition between environments and time zones with children more manageable.
